Featuring: our brother, Rodney K. Gordon
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ Titus 2:13
Dedicated
to: Rodney. See you there!
About the song: Glen seems to be determined that Karla is going to write
country music! This one certainly didnt start out that way
Usually when Karla writes a song, she writes the melody line first and then
the chords, rhythm and words come later. This time, the words and rhythm
came first. She heard a minister say the phrase, In the twinkling
of an eye the trumpet will sound and well be gone. The rhythm
of that phrase played over and over in her mind. When Glen, the producer, received
her demo of the song, he decided that it should have a country/southern gospel
feel. Guess who got his own way on this one?
Our brother Rodney sings the solo for this song. We are honored that he was willing to travel all the way to Hollywood to be a part of this recording.
In the Twinklin' of an Eye Song Clip
Chorus
In the twinkling of an eye the trumpet will sound
And well be gone to meet the Lord in the sky
In the twinkling of an eye the trumpet will sound
And well be gone home with the Lord
Verse
1
It cannot be very long
Til Jesus comes to claim His own
Hes building us a place up there
They say that its beauty is oh so rare
Keep looking to the sky God is standing by
And soon we will be caught away
With Him on high
Verse
2
Dont let troubles shake your soul
Keep hoping in the Lord
We know that problems have to come
But trust in what our God has already done
Our troubles they will soon be past
Well be home with Him at last
Our burdens they will be no more
Well be home with the Lord
